Suprising Reasons You Might Not Be Losing Weight

Struggling to lose weight? If you’re like most people, you know just how difficult it can be to both get going on a regular diet and weight loss exercise program as well as stick with it and push past all the plateaus that come your way.

Then, once you have started to get good results with your fat loss workouts, you reach those super stubborn last few pounds that will not vacate from your body no matter what you do.

That’s when you really need to take action and fully assess what your diet and exercise program looks like and any small things that could be hindering the results you see.

Here are some surprising things that could be preventing you from seeing the results you’re after.

Staying Up Too Late

When was the last time you had a full eight hours of sleep? If it’s been longer than remember, you need to address this immediately. Not only does sleep cause you to become more tired and fatigued throughout your workout, but it also increase the levels of cortisol in the body, which can encourage the accumulation of abdominal body fat.

Getting to sleep earlier will promote a better recovery rate and better fat loss.

Not Enough Water

Another factor some people miss out on is enough water. While most people on weight loss diets are generally pretty good about getting in their water intake, you really need to watch that you’re consuming 8-10 glasses a day at minimum.

First, this will help ensure you don’t mistake thirst for hunger, and second, it will help clease the body and remove excess bloating.

Since bloating can cause an increase in the scale, that’s something you need to get under control.

Too Much Cardio Training

This one comes as a shock to many people. They think upping the cardio is the smartest solution to them burning fat faster. Unfortunately this isn’t always the case.

The issue here is that doing too much cardio can actually cause the body to hold onto it’s body fat stores more, thinking that it needs to save the energy for survival.

Furthermore, too much cardio also limits your ability to recover from your weight lifting sessions, and those are what will really burn fat the best.

If you feel like you need to do more cardio, have a good look at your diet first. Chances are there is something there you can adjust to help lower the calorie intake slightly and get fat loss results moving again.

So, be sure you keep these points in mind. Much of the time you are doing many positive things that will promote fat loss, but there are still a few that are holding you back.

Taking a well-rounded approach to attacking body fat is going to be the quickest way to get rid of the problem fast.
